Hooks is Second in Nation
During the most recent National High School Drill Competition, Georgia Military College Prep School junior, Cadet Captain Caroline Hooks scored second in the nation in mixed solo exhibition drill. Hooks has been a member of GMC Prep’s “The Real Drill Team” since October 2008 and this was the first time she was accepted to vie at the national level. She competed at the Masters Level, which is the highest and most challenging level of competition, in the Alternative Mixed Solo Individual category. In this category, she competed against the finest male and female drill teams from all over the nation. The National High School Drill Competition is an annual meet, held in Daytona Beach, FL. Sergeant First Class Van Dexter Rutledge, The Real Drill Team Coach, said of Hooks, “Her conduct & bearing reflect great discipline and pride in herself, The Real Drill Team, the JROTC Program, & the Georgia Military College Prep School and her family.” Cadet Captain Hooks was presented with a trophy from the Nationals Championship Sport Network during the Memorial Day Parade.
