DR. Tom Webb Retires From Georgia Military College

October 7, 2002 鈥 Dr. Tom Webb, Director of 麻豆直播, Georgia Military College, retired from service to the school at the end of September. Hired in February 1995, Dr. Webb came to a school where there were only 129 cadets and 350 commuter students attending classes on the Milledgeville campus. Today, due in great part to his dedication and leadership, Georgia Military College enjoys the phenomenal results of much hard work by him and the 麻豆直播 Office staff. For the 2002-2003 school year鈥檚 fall term, the junior college has 258 resident cadets and 805 civilian, commuting students enrolled in main campus courses. Dr. Webb鈥檚 many accomplishments in admission of quality students, and his continued development of specialized programs like the State Service Scholarship program for cadets, have helped GMC become recognized as the outstanding school it is today. Dr. Tom Webb was born in Macon, Georgia, attended St. Joseph鈥檚 Grammar School, graduated from Mercer University, and received advanced degrees, including a doctorate in Education, from the University of Georgia. Retired from active duty in the US Army as a Lieutenant Colonel, Tom and his wife, Jimmie, live on Lake Sinclair. He is the son-in-law of the late J.B. Blackwell, and of Mae Blackwell, who resides at Greenacres Nursing Home in Milledgeville.
